Learn to Skate
CanSkate
For skaters ages 3 and up to learn the basics of skating in a fun, safe manner. Skaters are grouped according to skill level and work towards achieving the 6 stages of the program. With 90% movement, professional coaches and program assistants, skaters learn the necessary progressions of balance, control and agility to develop the joy of skating.
Pre-Star
For skaters who have passed CanSkate stage 3 and are interested in finishing the CanSkate program in a figure skating geared environment. This session is run in conjunction with both the STAR program; therefore, skaters must be able to stop, turn, hold an edge, skate with their heads up and be aware of their surroundings. The ability to accept feed-back and take direction from a variety of coaches and program assistants is a must.

Learn to Train
STAR 1 to 5
The beginning of the STAR program, this is meant for skaters who have completed the CanSkate program and are ready to enter Skate Canada’s test stream, becoming a figure skater. All disciplines of figure skating are introduced: Dance, pairs, synchronized, artistic, skills and free-skate. Group lessons are used primarily with occasional private lessons meant for solo choreography only. Achievement of the Skate Canada STAR 1 to 5 level tests are worked towards although all figure skaters will be on the ice at the same time.

STAR 6 to Gold
For skaters who have passed the STAR 5 test level in their chosen disciplines. Achievement of the Skate Canada Star 6 to Gold level tests are worked towards. Group lessons are used but skaters are encouraged to pick a head coach to aid in their progress. Private lessons are needed for choreography, spins, jumps, and skills. All figure skaters will be on the ice at the same time.
For skaters who have passed the STAR 5 test level in their chosen disciplines. Achievement of the Skate Canada Star 6 to Gold level tests are worked towards. Group lessons are used but skaters are encouraged to pick a head coach to aid in their progress. Private lessons are needed for choreography, spins, jumps, and skills. Skate for Life
AdultSkate
For skaters aged 18 and over who continue to embrace the joy of skating.
Skaters can be at any level of progress in their skating careers and will work from the CanSkate, CanPowerSkate
and Star 1 to 5 programs as needed.
Group lessons are used primarily, but skaters who have finished the CanSkate portion of the program
are encouraged to pick a head coach to aid in their progress.
This session is run in conjunction with the StarSkate program.
For skaters aged 18 and over who continue to embrace the joy of skating.
Skaters can be at any level of progress in their skating careers and will work from the CanSkate, CanPowerSkate
and Star 1 to 5 programs as needed.
Group lessons are used primarily, but skaters who have finished the CanSkate portion of the program
are encouraged to pick a head coach to aid in their progress.
This session is run in conjunction with the StarSkate program.
